Fishing/dive route

Roteiros Recomendados para passeios de barco no Rio de Janeiro.

There are islands in the Bay of Guanabara and also oceanic islands, which are in the open sea. For these destinations we recommend the accompaniment of experienced and authorized guides, sailors and fishermen. These places reserve little known curiosities and have areas of ecological importance. For this reason all our professionals have been trained and have the knowledge of the fauna and flora, not to attack the ecosystem with the diving and fishing practices.

In the Bay of Guanabara stand out the Island of Snakes and the Island of Villegagnon. This first one houses numerous installations of the Brazilian Navy and was already an important fort for the defense of our city. It can be seen from the boat Rio - Niterói. The Island of Villegagnon now hosts the Naval School of Rio de Janeiro and is very close to Santos Dumont Airport and Marina da Glória (our point of embarkation and disembarkation). Today the island is very different from what it was in the past, when then it also housed fortifications for the defense of the city and can only be seen by boat for those who make the route Rio to Niterói.

The archipelago of the Cagarras Islands is formed by 4 islands (Round, Long, Palmas se Cagarras) and can be seen from several points of the city. It is located in front of Ipanema beach and has a very rich and preserved ecosystem. But, it is still allowing amateur fishing and ecotourism in a sustainable way.

The Tijuca Islands Archipelago is made up of several islands, including Ilha do Meio and is close to São Conrado, but it is also possible to be seen from Barra da Tijuca, Ilha de Alfavaca, Pontuda and Lajes da Tijuca. The latter, as its name implies, are a group of rock plateaus.

Cotunduba Island is also an island of the coast in open sea, located right at the entrance of the Guanabara Bay, near Praia Vermelha. Some adventurous sports enthusiasts practice abseiling and climbing on the cliffs of the island.

Ilha Rasa, is located in Guaratiba, in the west of the city, after the neighborhoods of Barra da Tijuca and Recreio dos Bandeirantes. They say it is one of the points to see Humpback Whales when they are passing by the coast of the river in migratory activity. The Island has small flora in danger of extinction, as types of grasses, cacti and shrubs.

The Islands of Parts and Islands of Palms have sandbanks, mangroves, Atlantic Forest and cliffs, and are part of the Environmental Protection area of Grumari.
